Meet the Viators
Welcome to Viator Farms. We are Ricky and Deborah Viator, and we can't wait to share our family of miniature goats with you. There is never a dull moment around our small town farm in Mauriceville, Texas. In February of 2019, we were given Lola, our very first Nigerian Dwarf doe. She was 3 months old. The farm she came from had cattle and the owners just wanted her to be safe because she was just so little. Lola grew up, not by very much, and in March of 2020, we decided to start our own little herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats. They are the perfect size and their playful, gentle, and nosey personalities were the perfect fit for our farm and, most importantly, our grandchildren and great-nieces and great-nephews and just generally anyone who comes to visit. Our little goats get lots of love and attention every day, and our goal is for our babies to be handled and cared for so that they are very social and playful when they go to their new homes. So if you are looking for fun, little companion goats, or even smaller dairy goats, contact us and we will be very glad to talk to you.
Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Nigerian Dwarf goats are miniature goats that have become very popular because of their small size and the variety of colorful markings and their beautiful, frequently blue eyes. They are the smallest of the dairy goats. Because of their small size, they do not require as much room as the larger milking goats. The does range from 17" - 19" with a weight of approximately 40 - 60 pounds. The bucks range from 19" - 21" with a weight of approximately 55 - 75 pounds. Most Nigerian Dwarfs are not raised for their milk, but mainly their playful personalities and companionship. They are gentle and friendly and very nosey. Their small size and playful personalities make them very easy to be handled by adults and children alike. They make good companion pets and provide lots of fun and entertainment to all.
